The 5-Week Manual Transmission CDL Training Program at Big Klass CDL School is designed to take students from beginner level to fully road-ready, with the confidence and skill to operate a manual-transmission commercial vehicle. This program provides hands-on training, expert instruction, and structured practice to prepare students for the CDL Skills Test and for real-world professional driving.

 – Classroom & Foundations

  1. Introduction to the trucking industry and CMV regulations
  2. CDL permit preparation (Special Requirements, General Knowledge, Combination Vehicles, Air Brakes) + ELDT Class (Entry Level Driver Training Class)
  3. Basic manual-transmission concepts: clutch control, shifting patterns, gear ranges
  4. Pre-trip inspection fundamentals
  5. Safety procedures and compliance essentials

 – Yard Training: Basic Manual Truck Control

  1. Hands-on manual clutch operation and smooth gear shifting
  2. Straight-line backing practice

-Yard Maneuvers & Shift Mastery
